Advanced Communications Features at your fingertips

With the DCS, you can benefit from the communications features that, until now, were unavailable or not cost-effective on systems of this size and price.  The DCS has been designed to give users access to the system’s comprehensive range of features, with functionality built into its stylish and ergonomic handsets.

Calling Line Identification – See Who’s Calling?

With DCS display feature phones, the Calling Line ID option shows you the name and number of the person calling, even if they are waiting on the line while you are on another call.  What’s more, a single keystroke will save the caller’s number so that you can easily return their call.  The Calling Line ID function stores up to 250 names, so you will always know when your key contacts are calling you.

Uniform Call Distribution – Sophisticated Call Handling

DCS gives you sophisticated call handling facilities to optimise service to callers.  When a group received a call, the DCS will direct the call to the first available person in that group.  If no assistance is available, and the call is held in a queue, the system will play a message to the caller, reassuring them of prompt attention as soon as a call handler becomes free.

System flexibility enables group supervisors to monitor the status of all incoming calls, and to bring staff in and out of a group as necessary.  Reports and statistics available to supervisors include:

  • Total calls
  • Number of calls waiting
  • Average queue time and longest waiting
  • Number of times all agents were busy
  • Average ring time before answer
  • Average service time after answer

Voice Dialler – Automatic Voice Recognition dialling

With the optional DCS Voice Dialler, remembering phone numbers or hunting for scraps of paper is a thing of the past.  Just lift the handset, press a button and say the name of the person you want to call.  The DCS does the rest for you.  What could be easier?

DCS Daughter Cards – Easily Add Handsets, Fax Machines or Modems

If you want to add a fax machine, modem or an additional handset – even a cordless type – to an existing DCS keyphone*, no problem.  Thanks to the optional DCS Daughter Card, the additional device operates completely independently.  It even has its own extension number, so you can send and receive faxes or data while making calls.

DECT Compatibility** - The Freedom to Move

Utilising the power of the DCS system, DECT digital, cordless handsets give you the functionality of the DCS with the freedom to move around the office, knowing that people who need to contact you will still be able to do so.

Auto Attendant – DCS’ 24-Hour Receptionist

With the DCS Auto Attendant option, you can be sure that incoming calls are never kept waiting to be answered.  Auto Attendant can answer multiple calls simultaneously, even giving each one an individual greeting.  External callers are prompted by the Auto Attendant to dial for direct connection to the right person, without operator intervention.  If no number is dialled within a specified time, the call will be automatically connected to the operator or another extension.  And of course Auto Attendant can work independently, or together with a voice processing system.

Teleconferencing – Group Discussion Facility

If you need to bring people into a teleconference, DCS let you link any combination of up to five extensions or trunk lines for group discussions.  What’s more, you can add or remove people to and from the group once it is established, so you can drop in and out of the conferences when it suits you to do so.

Voice Processing – Call Processing Integration

DCS is easily integrated with leading voice processing systems, running on stand-along PCs or on a network.  This means you can add on to the DCS a range of call handling functions to improve customer service.

From straightforward voicemail, to more advanced applications such as interactive voice response, fax on demand, email integration and other sophisticated call processing functions, DCS is the ideal system partner.

With the seamless integration DCS offers, you can overcome communications problems such as contacting remote or travelling employees, Improving customer service without increasing staff levels.

Call Management – Comprehensive Telephone Management Facilities

The DCS system provides a comprehensive variety of data for management purposes, including cost reports and details of both inbound and outbound calls.  The system can also be programmed to restrict certain types of calls, to international or premium rate numbers for example, helping to eliminate abuse of the telephone system.  And with comprehensive least cost routing functionality the DCS ensures that all calls are made at the most economic rate.

Integral Paging – Paging Facilities Available to all Users

Through the DCS’ keyphone the system provides an integral paging system which can be tailored to suit the needs of the user, with zone paging functionality.  This functionality brings the benefits of paging to all users and eliminates the need for an additional, and costly, paging system.

DCS Keyphones:  Elegant, Practical and Reliable

DCS keyphones combine a smart and ergonomic design with powerful functionality, featuring eight selectable ringing tones for easy identification. Speaker, handset and ringer volume and four fixed function keys.

Keyphones for all Requirements

The DCS comes with the option of either display or non-display keyphones.  The display phone features a two line, scrollable LCD display and has the option of 12 or 24 programmable keys, 8 or 16 of which have tri-coloured LED displays, enabling the phone to be tailored to suit the user’s requirements.  Where a display phone is not required, the DCS also offers the option of three non-display keyphones, wither the 6, 12 or 24 button standard.  The DCS is also compatible with a wide range fo headsets, for operator or call centre working.

Programmable Keys

Each of the programmable keys can be set to one of 25 different uses to provide a range of functions, including speed dial buttons, an individual outside line and call pick-up.

Context Sensitive Keys

The integral LCD display of the DCS display phone allows you to effectively utilise the power of the system via three softkeys.  The text on the screen show you exactly which functions are available, depending on the status of the call you are currently handling.  For example, if a call is on hold, or being transferred to another extension, the softkeys show the logical options available.  When making a call the directory listing also allows you to simple scroll to the required name, press a button and the number is automatically dialled.

Speed Dialling

The DCS’ speed dialling facility is like having an integral telephone director, with the ability to store up to 1500 names and numbers, (500 with the DCS Compact).  DCS display keyphones allow the user to view and select numbers for single key dialling, and frequently used numbers can also be programmed for single key dialling on any of the keyphones.

Appointment Reminder

DCS keyphones with an alarm key can be used to remind users of meetings and appointments, with display phones also capable of showing a programmed message when the alarm rings.

On Hook Dialling

The DCS allows users ot originate calls without lifting the handset, with the option of using the integral microphone* or the handset when the call is answered.

Off Hook Ringing

Have you ever left an important call on hold?  The DCS indicates that a call is waiting when the user is currently using the phone.

Coloured Light Indication

The tri-coloured LED lights on the DCS keyphones allow the user to track calls being made on the system, both their own and others.  Green lights indicate the user’s calls, red lights indicate other system calls, with amber lights showing recalls.

Redialling

The DCS provides three types of redialling.  ‘Auto retry’ reserves an outside line, automatically redialling the required number up to the pre-programmed limit.  ‘Last number redial’ save the last dialled number for trying again using the redial button and ‘save number’ stores the dialled number for recall after other calls have been made.
